Saab O The Week – new TTiD

It’s Saab O The Week(end) time again and this week we have a brilliant new TTiD SportCombi in Snow Silver, looking right at home in the Norwegian snow near Røros.

This twin turbo combi belongs to Torgeir W and it’s his 8th Saab! It’s got almost every option except for the sunroof. Torgeir rates the Bose sound system very highly and is looking forward to checking a bit more into what Hirsch might have to offer for the TTiD.

A very nice ride, Torgeir. I’m pleased you’re loving it as the TTiD is an incredibly good engine. Thanks for sending these in!

And don’t those conditions call for an XWD version of the TTiD? I believe Saab are getting plenty of interest and requests in that idea and are working on it. Now that will sell like hotcakes when it comes!

Wulf’s new whip

TS regular and curator of the Saab-Media-dot-net website, Wulf, has recently blessed his garage with a 2004 Saab 9-5 Aero.

Wulf’s fond of his wagons, so it’s little surprise that this new ride has the big back end. In Wulf’s totally objective view, the 04/05 Saab 9-5 is the best looking Saab ever – inside and out. I don’t want to get into a wedge situation here and marginalise anyone – everyone’s got their favourites – but I tend to think he’s not far off on that one.

Anyone else planning on getting a new ride soon? It’s always an exciting time.

Here’s a few shots of Wulf’s new whip. If you like those, there’s plenty more over at his website. Congratulations, mate!

Things that make you go Hmmm

I have the utmost respect for any servicemen. My nephew was attached to the Air Force here in Australia and is now a police officer back at home. People who put themselves in harm’s way to protect how their families and communities live deserve everyone’s respect for the job they do.

But it doesn’t mean they have blanket permission to deface their Saab like this:

There’s an album of these over at Flickr, including some details of the artwork.

Can’t this guy get a HHR or something?

Saab O The Week – March 25

Happy 30th wedding anniversary, Sis!

This week’s Saab O The Week entry comes from Zaid M in the UK and it’s a magnificent and somewhat rare UK Viggen. There were only two years of Viggen sales in the UK – 1999 and 2000. Finding one in the US or Australia is hard enough and they had them for four years. Finding one in the UK is another thing all together.

Zaid has replaced the ultrasoft stock rims with 17-inch Hirsch six spokes. He’s also fitted the Viggen Rescue Kit, an uprated ARB and uprated brakes. I’m guessing the power boost might be next :-)

Thanks to Zaid for the pictures. Take care of that one….

If you’ve got a great Saab then the Saab O The Week section here at TS is the place to show it off. What we’re after is great photos of great cars.

Saturday Snippets – photo edition

I saw a car like this in Trollhattan last year and it was brilliant.

The body kit’s a bit bigger on this one, but here’s what a Viggen may have looked like in white:

That ‘Viggen’ shot and the following shot of the Speedparts-PA Johansson creation – the Turbo XR – came from SaabRobz’s Flickr account.

Actually, there’s a heck of a lot of incredibly good Saab photos there. You should check it out.

This is cool.

Whenever I see a shot like this now I’ll think of Ted Y. Click here to read why.

SOTW – Home Sweet Home featured a shot of Vector220′s place and in comments, someone rightly asked about the Saab that was closer to the house. Here’s a better shot to show that one, kind of…..

And finally…..

Robin M gets a perverse pleasure out of taunting me with images of pink Saabs :-)

This one’s actually for sale if anyone feels like punishing themselves. The description writes the car up as “stunning” which I guess isn’t completely inaccurate. I know I’d be stunned if I saw it on the street.

Saab O’Daweek, lads!

Ha, you’ve got to love the internet!

I mentioned earlier that we should have an Irish look at Saab O The Week for St Patrick’s Day (happy birthday, Bob Sinclair) – and five minutes later it appeared in my inbox!

Here’s a photo from CAM. Looks like an 88 model or thereabouts, photographed on the Healy Pass near Kerry. Happy St Paddy’s to all the Irish (and all that would be Irish this one day of the year).
