Trollhattan Saab has changed!
The site you're viewing now is the original Trollhattan Saab weblog, though it's now an archive only and no new material is posted here. As of February 2009, all new material is posted at our new site - Saabs United.
Please join us at Saabs United and get your daily Saab fix from Saab sources all around the world.

This is the final live entry for Trollhattan Saab. For the record, it’s entry #5,431 and there have been 50,962 comments thus far in the life of this blog.

Whilst this is the end of the road for Trollhattan Saab (yes, city of Trollhattan, you can have your Google rank back soon!) it is NOT the end of our collective journey with Saab blogging.

Please bookmark www.saabsunited.com – TS’s little baby and successor.

sufront

Trollhattan Saab will still exist indefinitely an archive, but from this post onwards, all new posts will be published at Saabs United.

I will give TS a week or so as it is, so that you can finish your conversations in comments here. As of next weekend the front page of Trollhattan Saab will automatically redirect visitors to Saabs United.

The reasons for the change are many but hopefully only noticeable to me. Your experience should be largely the same as it has been here at TS. There’s a nice fat welcome post over at SU that explains nearly everything (I’ve left the meaning of life to others).

no Saab stories, happy to move on to same community with a new name.

will save today’s oh so lonely Saab story for inaugural post. ok – short version: 70 miles of driving on the Mohawk Trail through Greenfield, MA up I-91 to Northfield, and Rte 10 to NH, and back.

Soooo many Subarus, Hondas, Chevrolets, VWs. SEVEN NEW VOLVOS, even a Land Cruiser.

Such a very lonely Saab was I, but then, at the very end, a white Saab smiled at mine on 112 in Ashfield. Still, two winters ago, Saabs around here were plentiful enough. Invasion of the Saab-snatchers?

The only thing that made me feel better was the sight of a very salt-stained Prius on I-91, so stressed at being forced to contend with a snowy New England….cars ARE the reflection of their owners…

Gasp ! But TrollhattanSaab, we hardly knew ye.

Saab United, waitaminit Swade, are you getting some background football sponsorship happening ?

    Wink.

Cheers. It’s not the name no the packaging that counts (so much) as what’s inside. Keep up the good work, mate !

Thanks for all the years, Swade, for keeping TS running! The new site looks great, and hopefully the move will be successful.

… at least it is easier to spell. When I’m traveling I have to do a search just to find TS as I can never remember the proper spelling of “trollhattan”. I should fare much better with the new name.

I see this change as if Swade is moving to bigger office. Swade has out grown this one and he’s moving up in the world. Cheers!

Starting a new blog for a brand whose continued existence has been uncertain of late is a nice vote of confidence for Saab. May both the blog and the brand be around for a long long time.

To misquote Aussie punk band Regurgitator: I like your new stuff better than your old stuff.

Vale TrollhattanSaab, a brilliant achievement of yours Swade ( not to mention EnG, Lance, Grip & others). Bring on Saabs United.

It was a privilege to be part of your achievement Swade.

SU looks good.Congrats: Rock on into 09- and don’t be the first to use that wretched Going Forwards phrase!

None us are going backwards by default- and Swadey sure aint!

Farewell TS! I hope to see you all over at Saabs United! Karen-your comments are interesting here…I’ve been counting fewer and fewer NEW Saabs in my daily travels but still see quite a few 1st-gen 9-3’s and 9-5’s in my area…not to mention 9000’s and classic 900’s. Let’s hope the numbers start to change in 2009!

“Saab United, waitaminit Swade, are you getting some background football sponsorship happening ?”

Run with this idea, Swade! Please make sure you make the football (or as we call ‘em here in the States: soccer) jerseys come in all sizes.
    ;-)

On a slightly more serious note: CHEERS, Swade, for all you did for us on this blog. I will continue to check in on the new site!

    Dear Swade,

I would like to send Jan-Ake Jonnson an email thanking him for his perserverance during these difficult times and also offer any assistance to Saab AB.

Would you be able to forward his email / contact information to me?

    This would be greatly appreciated.

    Sincerely,

Being one of the last to take overseas delivery of a Saab at Trollhattan, it appears I’m a late responder but I’m no less enthusiastic about my 2007 Ice Blue 60th Anniversary 9-3 SportCombi with SAAB 2 on the Michigan license plate. With enthusiasts like us, Saab ain’t going away. Keep up the good work Swade!
