Some say he formed all of Scandinavia with his own two…..”hands”, and that his urine is actually yellow and blue with remarkable color separation. All we know is he’s named after one of Saab’s best ever rally drivers.

I mean, come on. There’s “The Stig” and then there’s THE STIG. Even Top Gear’s unidentified one bows at the feet of the master.

Stig-the-lesser has recently listed his Top 51 cars on the Top Gear website and whilst there was some top grade machinery there, it was Swedish metal that rightly took the top spot:

An unexpected choice?

Maybe a little, but appropriate when the being writing the list is named after a Saab legend.

Thanks Mantas!

Are you sure that it is rated number one?

I am wondering if 10 is the top rating and 1 the lowest?

There are some incredible machines there and I can not see the Viggen being better than all of the competition.

I like Saabs, yes, but let’s be realistic about this ;)

Agree, cars with higher numbers seems to get more approval from The Stig.

Swade, seems you got that one slightly wrong, but what the heck, it is on the list and many competitors are not.

Each car has a number. It’s a top 51. I’d have thought that like most top lists, it ends at #1. I don’t think it’s a serious list, for what that’s worth, it’s just a nice notable.

I think I’ve worked it out. The Stig has compiled a list of his favourite cars and then rated them all out of 10. There are two many multiples of the same number to be anything else.

Thus, the Viggen is on the list but only rates a 1 – for the dubious distinction of being “good practice” which I interpret as “difficult to drive”. Which leads me to think that the list has been compiled by a whining journalist and not the uber-skilled Stig. Thats ok, Saab is used to being the underdog.

They might have rated it higher if they’d driven Richos.

No, PT. I’m going to sit here with my ears blocked yelling “NONONONONONO” until you and your sensible explanations go away.

The Viggen’s the only one rated at #1. The others are all tied for lesser positions.

    And that’s that!

    *creeps away…….and sobs*

    Swade,

That’s exactly how a Saab nut and Viggen fan should speak! :D DD

Viggen will always be number #1 on my list.

I’m wondering if there are any clues in this list. The Stig sure seems to like LeMans type racers. And the inclusion of the Viggen makes me wonder if he’s affiliated with TWR.

At least it made the “Top 51 Cars”.

I agree that he has not ranked the cars, simply rated them from 1 (low) to 11 (high). I would think that it should be taken as a compliment that he actually made a special spot for the Viggen by adding the extra car to his Top 50 list. Who makes a Top 51 list of anything!?!

Somebody who is hinted at being alien/extraterrestrial in origin on Top Gear’s Website. Area 51!
