Saab 900 4-door convertible?

Trollhattan Saab has changed!
The site you're viewing now is the original Trollhattan Saab weblog, though it's now an archive only and no new material is posted here. As of February 2009, all new material is posted at our new site - Saabs United.

It seems our mate Golfhunter is becoming a blogger, writing for our Euro-buddy Etienne’s Saabhuy blog.

It’s quite appropriate that he post this particular story as Golfhunter’s no stranger to custom convertibles himself, having what is possibly the most elegant Saab convertible ever parked in his garage.

The story?

It starts something like this:

Hey! What the heck are you doing to that Saab 900, mister?!

900chop

I’m building a 4-door Saab 900 convertible.

Ah, carry on then

Curiosité, indeed!

Thanks Robin!

Looks well done. I’m not sure about the 99 Soccer ball wheels though? I know they appeared on some very early 900s (EMS), but they don’t work for me on later models. Speaking of wheels Swade, did you notice the wheels on those wheels on the other two Monte Carlo yellow verts? Very odd. Like you I thought they mostly appeared on 9-5s. Have you learned what happened to your Monte’s original wheels?

Hello , yes thanks to Etienne , I have the pleasure to write short articles for SaabHuy . It’s quite fun !
I like it actually ! And I always contact people who are involved for helping me to write articles about their cars or Saab experiences. Frank did it great with a complete story he sent me with all the pictures because he had the great idea to take photos from the beginning to the end !
Thank you Steve for your wink here !

The soccerball wheel originate from a 99 EMS indeed. I slightly atered them a long time ago to fit on 900- old pits cars.
They will be available for sale later this year. Anyone interested?

    Cheers, Frank (The Converter himself).
