The Temp Wars continue, this one coming from Saskatchewan, a region in Canada known for two things: It’s majestic rolling hills (NOT!) and it’s fervent, frenzied football fans – the Rider Nation.

Francois sent in this SID reading from there and notes that his previous car, a Mercedes Benz C230, had to stay inside when it was this cold. Not so the Saab:

And from somewhere a little to the south and somewhat to the east, Sumit has sent in these shots of his fine collection. He’s looking forward to the day when an independent Saab can provide something to get him out of the car in the third photo for good. The first two shots are his 08 Saab 9-5 Aero wagon and Turbo X SportCombi.

Nice.

    did you import that Alpina?

I think we’ll be waiting a very longtime before SAAB offers a competitor to that car…

WooDz.. There might be a chance though..Alpina is an independent tuning company.
And so is Hirsch. So infact there might be a chance that a Alpina rivaling Hirsch super Saab might see the light of day. So never say never.
That would be just wonderful. And yes.. Alpina do spectacular work.

    Sumit.. On word.. Envy!

    Cheers/Tom

Saab will release a concept of a car that may allow you to replace it, but they’ll never actually build it.

The Alpina B7 is sold through BMW dealers in the USA, FYI. I believe it’s around $120k. 500 horsepower supercharged V8 is ok in my book!

    ya – love them truly.

i had in addition a 20th anniversary convertible #250 – i agonized over whether or not to keep it at end of lease – decided to not because it just rattled and squeaked way more than a car of that pedigree deserved to.

and yes, the Alpina B7 is a thing of absolute beauty. floor the pedal and it becomes a total awe inspiring magical beast – feeling and sound.

and i will make a simple statement – if they build the aeroX, the alpina will become the “i’ll drive this for a momentary change” car – i’ll still enjoy it immensely but i believe the aeroX can inspire true love. executed right, it could change everyone’s perception of all things saab – and have us be “winners” and innovators rather than quirky underdogs
