Is this the best hot hatch of all time?
OK, maybe the Saab 99 Turbo is a little big to be considered a true hot hatch as the term’s come to be understood today. But it sure as heck deserves better than the showing that it’s got right now!!
CAR Magazine are conducting a poll to find the best hot hatch of all time. It’s a pretty long list being led by some strong contenders, but the Saab is in there and needs your support.
As I’m posting this, the 99T has a paltry 26 votes, way behind the 515 votes acquired by both the VW Golf and Lancia Delta Integrale – and that’s not good enough. The 99T deserves more respect.
So, if you’ve got a heart and a minute to cast your vote, join with me and George from Turbonines in giving the Saab 99 Turbo a more suitable vote tally.

Nice going, GM, for killing the hatch. When I was back in Sweden, I noticed that many die-hard hatch drivers had to compromise with the estate.

Sorry Swade, the Golf mk1 got my vote, (closest thing to a mk1 Scirocco that really should get the award) but i’ll log in on the mrs computer and cast a vote for the 99 aswell…..

I think it really is the Lancia or the Mk 1 GTI… but I voted for the Saab anyway :-p
