Local Tasmanian Saabnut, Drew B, is doing a fixer-upper repair job on a 1995 V6 Saab 900. I covered the initial stages of the job a few weeks ago.
Let’s recap.
When Drew first got the car, it looked like this:
After removing the damaged radiator panel (and associated bits) and straightening the supports, the new panel was spot welded into position and primed, ready to go:
So where are we at now? Well, it’s not quite done yet, but should be on the weekend. Have a look….
I called around to Drew’s place yesterday and he was kind enough to paint part of the front bumper on my Alfa 33. The NG900 was in the workshop and it was looking good.
This is it again, all taped off, primed and ready for paint.
When I got there at about 2.30pm the engine bay looked like this. As you can see, the paint’s gone on beautifully and the whole thing looks brand-spanking new!
That was yesterday.
Today I got a few more photos and Drew’s reconnected the wiring loom at the front and reinstalled the radiator as well as a few other bits and pieces. Still to go are the headlamps, front bumper and guards, reattach the doors and paint the hood.
By the time I drop in and see him on Sunday with the Monte, there’s every chance he’ll be in a position to drive this puppy.
Proper job!!!
