OK, so it’s probably more escapist denial at this point, but I thought that a brief interlude will remind us that Saabs will still be around for a long time no matter what happens in Detroit, Washington, Trollhattan or Russelheim. Let’s all go to our happy place….
All are from Golfhunter’s Flickr stream…
First, there’s this unbelievable two-door 99 with a body kit. This is why I chose Jeff’s photos for this little breather.
I like the shock of red above this 9-3…
We never seem to give the 9000 enough love.
Finally, I’ve always wanted a 5-door C900. They are very, very rare here in the US. This one is a great example (now that I’ve gotten the right picture here — thanks, Joe!):
This is Jeff’s 99. It isn’t a 900. I think that you can see why I picked the wrong picture based upon the thumbnails!

Is that last one a c900? Wow.
EDIT: sure looks like a 99 to me, I could be wrong?
Joe: Oops, posted the wrong picture!!! Doh! Will fix momentarily. Thanks for the help.
Is that the original cherry red color on the first 99? Ah memories…
Eggs, great minds think alike. I saw that two-tone 99 on my Flickr feed this morning and thought “yep, that’s what this thing is all about”
That TwangGang on Golfhunters flickr page looks hilarious and stunningly photographed.
Brilliant.
Looks like someone ruined Saab bodykit by adding extra flaps underneath.. Other than that, very nice.
5dr GLs 900 – excellent! A true Saab!!
Can’t remember if this 99 cab has been on TS before…

Here’s my happy place. I’m on my way there in a few moments…
MarkoA: It IS the original Saab airflowkit, for the 99!! I’ve got one of them myself! the “flaps” underneath belong there! I’ve even got the Saab Accesories catalogue with this kit inside.
That being said, I have heard that some people don’t like the “flaps”, and therefore remove them. Npw THAT would be ruining a Saab original bodykit!
