Trollhattan Saab has changed!
The site you're viewing now is the original Trollhattan Saab weblog, though it's now an archive only and no new material is posted here. As of February 2009, all new material is posted at our new site - Saabs United.

I started off June by calling an end to this site. I was pretty stressed at the time and the site’s been in a steady state of decline since mid-2007 (still is, but hopefully I’m about to change that). Many were very kind in comments to that post and I realised how much this whole blogging thing meant to me and decided to stay on, but tone down a little. I learned some lessons and I’m glad things went the way they did.

Back to regular stuff, we had a Q&A about engine oil.

Occasional guest writer and fine house guest Lance Cole penned a couple of articles in June. The first was a tribute to the Saab 9-5, and the second a treatise on Saab Design.

Being a contemplative month, I penned an open letter to anyone who loves Saab cars. That aricle featured the Saab Convertible, and we discussed the merits of the Saab convertible during winter in a subsequent article.

Poor Saab marketing in the guise of bad product placement with the Saab Aero-X. Just my humble opinion, which a few disagreed with.

We announced in May that regular Aussie reader, Turbin, had won a trip to Spain to drive the Turbo X on a top secret track. In June, he wrote his top secret report on the trip. Lucky bloke. Worth clicking through just for the picture of the track.

Given Saab’s current predicament, this poll makes for interesting reading. It’s about how Swedish Saab need to be for you to still be interested.

The most valuable car reviews aren’t those done by journos on megadollar junkets. They’re the reviews done by owners who have shelled out their own hard earned for the vehicle. Here’s one such review of a Turbo X, which was still a very new car at the time.

The Saab 9-4x was spotted at a McDonalds drive-thru.

With my insurance case finally settled, I felt comfotable sharing my Viggen crash video again.

Germany’s Auto Motor and Sport gave us their artist’s impression of the new Saab 9-5. Looks good. I hope they’re right.

And finally, I did my best to review the Hummer H3 after a brief ride at GM’s proving grounds here in Australia.

Glad to still be reading you, Swade. I liked the Hummer H3 by the way. But only after I took it off road.
