Trollhattan Saab has changed!
The site you're viewing now is the original Trollhattan Saab weblog, though it's now an archive only and no new material is posted here. As of February 2009, all new material is posted at our new site - Saabs United.
Please join us at Saabs United and get your daily Saab fix from Saab sources all around the world.

It’s a new month and now that I’ve been on my stats package for a full month, I can once again summarise the site’s progress for those who might be interested.

There were 121 new entries posted here during October 2008, just under four per day.

The site attracted 97,421 visits from 44,711 visitors, each visitor viewing 2.63 pages per visit on average over a period of just over 3 minutes per visit.

All those numbers add up to 255,911 pageviews for the month, an average of 8,255 pages served per day.

Here’s the graph. Click to enlarge:

43% of visitors came here directly, with around 36% coming from search engines and the rest coming from linked articles elsewhere on the web.

Here are some of the major countries where people look at Trollhattan Saab:

There were 14,019 visits via 268 cities in Sweden:

There were 35,071 visits via 52 regions in the United States:

There was 1 visit, from 1 city in Angola :-)

Trollhattan Saab is supported by advertising and covers its costs without too many problems. It also takes a bucketload of time, however, and if you’ve appreciated the work that’s gone into the site over the last month, then please consider supporting the site with a donation.

The suggested donation is US$5, which equates to around 4.1 cents per entry.

Donations are made via Paypal, and you don’t need a Paypal account of your own to participate; all you need is one of those plastic credit card thingys. The site is secure and I don’t see any of your details.

Regardless of whether you donate or not, thanks for your support of the site via your repeated visits and contributions here.

Here’s to another month, and what an interesting month it should be!

How about South America? Still a “black hole”?

  • 2 swadeNo Gravatar // Nov 3, 2008 at 7:13 pm

Around 300 in total, the biggest being Argentina with 131, then Brazil with 95.

Also 8 visits from Iran 8O

Don’t mention it, Swede. US authorities could close you down because of those 8 visits. :)

    Keep up the good work!

I just donated, but at least I wouldn’t mind some “reminder posts” about the possibility of donating more often than they are posted now. By the rate I’m visiting this site (=several times per day) I certainly wouldn’t mind donating that 5$ per month.

Thanks, Moose. It’ll be monthly, with the site stats.

Does it show Yeovil as a big blob? or is it not quite that clever. My nearest city is Bristol.

  • 7 swadeNo Gravatar // Nov 3, 2008 at 8:56 pm

Yeovil doesn’t have a dot that I can see. Bristol is #10 on the list, though :-)

    i donated:)

Swade, do you have any statistics of visitors from Asia? How many visitors from future car markets like China & India?

and finally how many from Trollhättan?;)

I am surprised that there is not a noticable impact from the 10/22/08 “My Saab” e-mail link. I guess their circulation may not be that big.

In fact, you may have been doing them a favor with your story boosting their reach.

    off subject, but.
Happy Birthday Eggs, will they dare put 45 candles on your cake i wonder? :-)

  • 12 eggsngritsNo Gravatar // Nov 4, 2008 at 10:50 pm

Back at you, Robin! You who didn’t dare put 45 on yours!

Great site stats!!! I wonder about how that stacks up against other sites?

Nearly half of the traffic is direct!!!! That is amazing. That means that those people are regular visitors, very ’sticky’ in marketing parlance. Should be worth something to someone…

Happy to donate, once again, Swade.

Having almost 5 months put into working up my blog, I very much appreciate the daily dedication you put into this. Keep plugging away as you inspire me to continue forward at RacingReady.com.

    Thank YOU! ;-)
