I don’t know how many of you saw this, but a few days ago a guy named Emanuele left a comment on the site – and what a comment.
It was surprising for a couple of reasons. The first was the extraordinary collection of cars he has, which he listed in the comment. It really is something to see (and you can see them, below)
The second surprise is that Emanuele is from Italy. In nearly four years of Saab blogging, with more than 45,000 comments on the site, I’ve rarely had contact with a Saab nut from Italy. And it’s even rarer to come across someone, regardless of where they’re from, with such a large collection of cars.
Here’s the full list, from Emanuele’s comment:

Here’s the collection. As Emanuele mentions, some of these are obviously restorers or parts cars, but I’ve included everything he sent me. There’s some truly great stuff here.
My personal favourite is the two-door 99T with the minilites and rally livery. That car is the duck’s guts if you ask me.
In his email to me, Emanuele said the following:
no problem for show my history, so saab enthusiast know that in italy lives a krazy saab collector.
We’ve met up with Saab nuts from all over the world in the last few years. It’s nice to know there’s someone who’s Saab Krazy in Italy, too. I think we might have to make up a Saab Krazy T-shirt in Emanuele’s honour!
Emanuele has a website, too, where I think he sells a few of his Saabs every now and then.
For now, enjoy Emanuele’s collection, and wish for a chance to get a ride in a 99T as sweet as that one, one day

HEAVEN !!
Great collection! My first car was a 99T sedan in green (not Ralley) 2-door, and my 2nd a 99T 2-door hatchback in darkred. Good old times
Sigh… I just saw a cherry red 99 GL 5speed MY84 when I walked home from work… Exact same as the one I owned, except that this one was a 4-door. No corrosion at all on it. The quality in the paint seems to be so good at the end of the 99-era, because I regularly see such cars that are in a very great shape.
Emanuele, if you run out of room, you can send any of those 900s to: Eggsngrits, Nashville, Tennessee USA. I’m good for the shipping. Make sure to send the keys.
ctm: You are correct, sir! That was about the time that the environmentalists (perhaps rightfully so, I’m not bashing) got into the paint business and forced reformulation of paints. That’s one of the reasons behind the color pallette that’s so specific to the very late 1970′s and early 1980′s. No bright red, maroon instead, lots of off-white rather than bright white, etc. Certain pigments simply compromised the paint too much to use widely. Red, even on the later C900, is unpredictable and fades easily.
Italy is not far from here ! And it’s good to see that Saab Nu exist in Italy too !What an amazing collection !!! So many 99′s , 900′s !! We hope to meet you during an international Saab meeting !
