Rare Saab scale model for sale

There’s six days to go in this auction. I put a bid on it this morning that was about 15 pounds sterling above the previous bidder and I was outbid within around 5 minutes.

Obviously I’m not going to win it, but maybe one of you Saabnuts want it enough to join what could be a bidding war by the time this thing’s over.

What’s for sale is a 1:43 scale model of a very rare Saab. So rare, in fact, that it was never commercially produced – the Saab 98.

The 98, for those who don’t know, was an experiment to extend the Saab 95 range into the new combi coup territory that had just opened up with the Saab 99. It was decided that the project wouldn’t work and the only Saab 98 assembled now rests at the Saab Museum in Trollhattan.

This scale model is apparently one of only 150 made and is the same color as the full size model – Sienna Brown.

I bid GBP15.50 and it went up very shortly afterwards. It’s now at GBP18.00 with almost a week to go. Keep an eye on it and if you’re a keen collector, grab what’s probably a pretty rare chance.

By the way, Robin M has just created a new Flickr group for people into Saab memorabilia and “stuff” as well as another one specifically for scale model Saabs. Check them out and join up if you’re so inclined.

I have it on my “watching section”. I forgot to bid for the 9000 talladega.

This month I spend quite a lot money for rare Saab models, basically the stahlberg ones….

Check Neo Scale Models website. http://www.neoscalemodels.com/ they have new Saab models, basically 900 convertibles and some 9000

I am gonna do the preorder for the koenigsegg from Autoart. woooooooooow, I have one in 1/43 from ixo. It was time to have it in 1/18. From that shop in the last order they give me an offer for a porsche carrera GT in 1/12 for less than 30 euros, awesome!!.
