Trollhattan Saab has changed!
The site you're viewing now is the original Trollhattan Saab weblog, though it's now an archive only and no new material is posted here. As of February 2009, all new material is posted at our new site - Saabs United.
Please join us at Saabs United and get your daily Saab fix from Saab sources all around the world.
I’ve just been going through the full stable of Saab Pride submissions and would like to place a call for any and all owners of older Saabs to get them out of the garage and snap off some photos.
So far, we’ve got just over 80 vehicles in total. This includes entries in the original Pride of Ownership competition. Please note that not all photos received so far are of the quality of composition that I’d like for the book, so that number will fall as I go through the editing process.
The current breakdown of vehicles is as follows:
I’ve got lots of Saab 9-5s and 9-3s (of both generations), both wagons and combis. I’ve also got a goodly number of Classic 900s and 9000s….BUT..
I’ve only one Saab 99 and one Saab 95 and there’s no 96s in the virtual garage right now.
So if you’ve got one of these older Saabs and you love it, please consider wheeling it out this weekend so that we can round out this book and make sure that as much of Saab’s model range as possible is represented.
——
If you’re sending in some photos, I also need some text to accompany the shots. This would ideally be a brief description of the vehicle, as well as a few words about what the car (or the brand) means to you. Imagine the sort of thing you’d like to read about, and then write it to accompany your shots.
——
Thanks to everyone who’s sent in some shots so far. It’s going great!

Golfhunter provided the only 99 and 95 shots I’ve got. I need some of Yurk’s 96s, even if they’re bailed up in the shed.
Ted, help!!!!

Pretty good mix, but some more 99’s wouldn’t hurt. I’m still regretting a gave away mine to my sister…

Maybe mismatched hubcaps wouldn’t matter so much with so few NG900s in the mix. Hmm……

Swade: If you read this, I’m worried about submitting too much to your gmail account. Is it okay if I submit about 6 varied photos, each about 1 MB? Or, I’ll have these on my hosting provider (Startlogic), so would you prefer just thumbnails with links to the full size? Thanks.
Eggs: Well, I’ve got one photo with my 9-3, a bullnose 96 (1964) and a 1966 96 that I’ll be submitting today or tomorrow. Neither is restored though, so I’m sure someone has better. I should at least get an A for effort. It was tough moving one car with no brakes, and the other with brakes locked on.
I took a week off, hoping to travel around for great photos, but instead we had 6 crias (baby alpacas) born that week, with several having crisis situations. So all my photos are all on our homestead, most out on a hill in the alpaca pasture.

Swade: did you include Doug’s 99? It’s worth an e-mail….

Ted, Send whatever you like to the Gmail. It’ll hold.
A for effort indeed!! And I hope those baby alpacas are doing Ok. I can’t ven imagine what a baby Alpaca looks like. I guess it just looks like a little alpaca.

Wow, this book really needs some 99’s!! I wouldn’t mind some more ng900s either. Did the guy who had the awesome modified ng900 that was at the meat in Washington submit an entry?

Swade: If there is still a need of 99s, I’d like to offer mine (but you might have to be a little on the desperate side!). I e-mailed a month or so back about my 1970 99 I got off eBay. It still doesn’t run but is only a couple hours from doing so, and it’s looking a little rough, but it’s got the spirit.
So, if you sorely need another, I can cook something up. Good luck!
