BRING BACK THE < 1993 SAAB 900! GM needs to sell SAAB back to the Sweedes. The 2009 9-3 sedan is so boring and uninspiring, same with the 2010 prototype. The hatch was brilliant don’t mess with a good thing: case in point 9-2x saabaru was a joke, a piece of junk, and a total diaster. The current quality seems to be way behind BMW and even Volvo. If there are any SAAB design engineers out there: get back to what made SAAB great, don’t make me buy a new BMW!!!

LOL @ Alex. Yeh baby, yeh!! I remember reading about those bad-handling 3 series BMWs back in those days. A 900 SPG was the 335i of 1987!! Saab had an iconic status in the 80s with yuppies much like BMWs do these days.

Hi Swade, I’ve spent this week in Germany attending the annual Euro Car Body Conference, yesterday Skoda presented the new Superb and that hatch really is Superb, small sedan opening for everyday use and then, for those special occations (like buying a new washing machine for instance) you just open the full hatch and load it up. Do it Saab, just do it!

I didn’t look close enough at the front-on photo, which would have given it away. Didn’t note the side markers and still can’t see the rear high brake light.

The penalties I pay for rushing sometimes……

I was going to point-out that this has to be at least newer than ’85 due to the side markers (fender blinkers) and the rear high brake light. Those were both introduced in ’86.

I too like the black roof. And isn’t that 900 an ’87 or newer, what with those headlights and bumpers?

I like the silver/black color combo on those Aero/SPGs. Good lookin’ cars.
