Welcome Sally the future fudgepacker

I just wanted to note the recent birth of young Sally the fudgepacker, which took place while we were overseas.

Sally is the brand-spanking new daughter of Danielle and Matt the fudgepacker, aka the Saabologist, a great friend of Trollhattan Saab and the former Saab Master tech at our local Saab dealership. Matt’s assisted on numerous stories here over the years, most recently helping me drive and film the Subaru WRX.

Here’s the young lass, looking very concerned about the fact that you have to pay to get heated seats on a Saab in the US.

Welcome to the word, young Sally, and hearty congratulations to Matt and The Pants.

  1. Aha – that’s why Saabs are 30% more expensive in Canada! We get the heated seats as standard. Rear too in the 9-5. Congrats to all the new caregivers!!! . . . what a treasure.

(Tom – Let’s hope as with other apparently English terms, it has an entirely different meaning . . . if you are referring to that old film.)

  2. Matt and Danielle do make some premier fine fudge. Just won a swag of awards for it, too. The description as a fudgepacker is Matt’s self-deprecating humour. And yes, it has the same slang meaning here in oz.

The business is called A Fudge A’Fare and I’ve been hassling him about a website for some time.

    It’s fantastic stuff.

  3. Fudgepacker is a word I would not use in anything widely distributed in the US …. using it is the same faux pas that Goerge W made when he showed a “reversed” “V”- victory sign in Australia not knowing it means something entirely differnt down under

  4. Congrats Matt and Danielle! I´ve got my 6 week old Eric in my lap just now sitting infront of the computer. Not the easiest place to get him to relax.. But one thing always work.. Foo Fighters. Great music and singer Dave´s middle name is Eric..
