Current Offers at SaabUSA
If you go to the SaabUSA website right now and hit ‘current offers’ there doesn’t seem to be much on the table except for customer loyalty cash, which is paid to owners of post-1994 Saabs. Current amounts for that are $1,000 for Saab 9-3 models and $1,500 for the Saab 95 and 9-7x.
That’s what they’re telling you on the website.
Tedjs has stumbled across a current offers summary from Automotive News that tells a different story. I’ve pulled a few screenshots here for you to look at. Click to enlarge:
That image shows that there seem to be some customer incentives on the Saab 9-3 and 9-7x, which I’d assume to be cash on the hood, that SaabUSA aren’t mentioning on their website at this point. Somewhere between $0 and $4,500. Maybe they’re both at $0, but then why would Automotive News be writing about it at all? It’s worth asking the question….
Then there’s this one:
This one shows that there’s some dealer cash as well. My understanding of this is that this is money provided by Saab on each car that the dealer can eat into to provide a good deal. It effectively lowers the cost of the car to the dealer (if I’m thinking straight).
If they sell to you at a higher price, then more for them.
If you’re in the market and want a copy of the pdf to wave around at your dealership, then email me and I’ll send it along.
UPDATE - Wulf tells me that certain Saab dealers are displaying the dealer cash at their own websites. Here’s an example from Saab of Santa Ana in California.
I guess it’s worthwhile checking your local dealer wesbites first to see what they’ve already got on offer.

This isn’t being advertised so much, but I’ve covered it here on the site in the last few months.
The passing of the 2008 model year will see the passing of the Employee Pricing on the Saab 9-3. To anyone who’s had access in the past, your time to act on it if you’re keen on a 9-3 is running out.
Earlier today I saw a copy of an email GM are sending around internally, promoting the program for 2008 models and reminding staff that it’ll be over soon. Unfortunately, I’ve not got that email with me at the moment, but I’ll add the text to this post later today.

Wow, that’s serious money! That’s a 2 edged sword, the dealer has to think: Do we sit on inventory that’s not selling & lose money, or lose money on incentives to get (bribe) people to buy? Kind of sounds like a lose-lose, definately not a win-win.
I know I’m preaching to the choir, here, but they need to put that incentive money into more advertising, like the 9-3 convertible ad I enjoyed while watching “Burn Notice” (on the USA network) this evening. Also, there were some nice shots of the ‘vert in action on the show, but they were so quick & arty, that if you didn’t know what car it was you’d have been left wondering. I hope they pause more on the Saab in the future episodes. BTW, I like the series - hadn’t heard about it till its mention here - thanks Swade!
Thanks Gripen! I wouldn’t have known about it if he hadn’t passed it on. It starts here in Oz next week - SW
I bought a Turbo X July 5th and was able to get $1,000 owner loyalty and $3,000 of the dealer incentive off the MSRP.
I also have started watching Burn Notice and bought the season 1 DVD as a result of the notice on TS.
Thanks!
Stumble? That info is posted every single week in Automotive News. A few weeks back they had 9-3’s & 9-5’s @ $4000 - $5000 and 9-7x @$5,500. We held out on my wife’s 9-5 to get a $6000 rebate so along with our GM Employee discount (thanks Dad) we got a whooping $9500 off her 2.3T Go out and get yourself a subscription!
And in Canada they are now advertising $6K incentive on the 9-3 in the newspapers. However they do not mention anything of this on their homepage so i do not understand why they do not go all out. when people compare prices they do it online and 6k is quite a big difference.
In Canada the 9-3 starts at 29.9cdn + taxes.
