Wednesday Night Snippets
Opel are testing a new engine for the Insignia, which I’m sure could make it into a Saab as well. It’s exciting stuff, too. The new engine uses HCCI technology, running like a diesel engine at lower speeds and like a regular spark engine at higher load.
Auto Express have taken it for a spin, and whilst it’s still got some refinement to go, they seem to think it’s very promising.
We drove a 154bhp 2.2-litre Ecotec-powered Vectra fitted with the HCCI system. Although there are no official figures, it should return 43mpg (up from 37mpg), while emissions are set to fall by 30g/km to only 150g/km.
Thanks ctm!

I’m not sure how they do it, but local bloggers from Australian Car Advice, having already travelled to France to drive the Bugatti Veyron, are now in northern Australia driving a pair of Aston Martins.
Enjoy, fellas.

Spotted on Flickr. I like the roof, but am really unsure about the hood.

Perhaps that 900 driver would like one of these aftermarket Saab badges? Andy Rupert found them and they come from the same supplier who made the Swedish flag badge that he put on his Saab 900.
The seller sells via Ebay, there’s around 6 or so in the range, and they’re not bad all…..
