It’s been passed on to me that Rolf Jensen, the rare and reproduction parts guru at Svenska Saabklubben, passed away from a heart attack at Kinnekulle racetrack very recently.

If you’ve ever owned a pre-900 Saab then there’s a chance you’ve come across Rolf Jensen. My contact with him was only brief and it was when I had my 99 Turbo. I was looking for some reproduction or original seat fabric and in asking around, all fingers pointed towards Rolf as the best source of information and as the best chance of getting some original fabric.

I’d hesitate to guess for how long he’d been running the spare parts division of SSK, but I’d say its been for a long, long time. Regular reader and commenter here, Saabyurk (Ted), is a long time two-stroker fan and had several dealings with Rolf. Ted said to me via email that he felt like he’d just lost a close friend.

Communities are like that. And the loss of servants to those communities is felt by everyone.
