Farewell to Saab’s Christer Nilsson
I’m not sure of the exact date this is happening, I was only told it was the end of May and I haven’t asked again since. But seeing it’s now around the end of May…..
I’d like to take this opportunity to wish Christer Nilsson, the PR guru from Saab Sweden, a very happy [...]
Saab spotter spots strange Swedish-plated Saabs in San Joaquin Valley
UPDATE below!
——
Our very own 1985 Gripen happened to be doing some work in the San Joaquin Valley in the last few days and was heading home when this happened:
I was driving southbound on SR 99 from Visalia toward Los Angeles, approaching Tulare at 9:10 a.m. on 28 May, 2008 (California time) and I [...]
A short history of Saab - and a short future?
The following piece was sent to me by regular visitor and commenter, Markac. He started it off as a comment in response to many of the saabological stories that have appeared recently. It got so big he decided to send it to me as an article, instead.

Wednesday Night Snippets
Opel are testing a new engine for the Insignia, which I’m sure could make it into a Saab as well. It’s exciting stuff, too. The new engine uses HCCI technology, running like a diesel engine at lower speeds and like a regular spark engine at higher load.

Edmunds see the light, or at least report on it

20% off Saab T-shirts for Father’s Day
I’ve just heard that Spreadshirt (our T-shirt producer) are having a father’s day sale in the US shop until June 9th.
If you’re interested in one of our groovy Saab T-shirts (including the new Turbo X shirts), then this would be an opportune time to grab one and get 20% off the asking price. [...]
Wednesday Snippets
If there were any concerns about the authenticity of the 9-4x and 9-5 engine information that I posted last night, those concerns would be based on the fact that they came from a new, as-yet unverified source.
I can confirm that the 9-4x information agreed with info I’d previously heard from a completely independant and very [...]
Things I like to see
One thing I’ve always enjoyed about Saab is their capacity to produce some great images in their publicity.
That facet has faded a little in the last 2 years or so, but seeing this image this morning made me smile. Maybe it’s back.
The image comes from a Saab Germany press release to do with Saab [...]
