I could get fired, have my arm caught in a shredder, have my puppy catch pneumonia. I could have my last remaining Saab get damaged, my house robbed or my mother tell me she’s coming to visit us. For good.
All those things would bother me tomorrow. Nothing can bother me today because the man who led Saab design all through the 1970s, 80s and into the 1990s visited my little corner of the internet:

Welcome to the website, Mr Envall!!!!
What Bjorn is referring to in his comment is a little episode that happened at the Saab Festival back in June 2007. There was a parade of cars from the Museum that snaked its way around the carpark outside, where everyone’s car were on display.
Bjorn was driving the Saab EV-1 concept car that he’d designed and built back in the 1980s and whilst he was in the middle of the carpark he decided to generate a little smoke
It was proof positive of how well the EV-1 was built back in the day, and how well it’s maintained in the present.
Bjorn – if I make it to Saab Festival next year, can I ride with you in that car???
——
I have heard another story about Bjorn Envall that I’d love to share here one day. It involves a formal dinner and a Ferrari. I’d better check with him first, though….
And I would love to see you riding it the car beside Bjorn, I’ll be there.
Congratulation Swade ,it’s a great visitor of your website !
Best regards Mr Enval !
Is that a bona fide visit, or an imposter?! I’ll take a look at the IP address momentarily…
eggs….ever the skeptic….
Well, my flight boarded on time, not delayed as originally announced, so I couldn’t look it up right away.
Alingsås region of Sweden. About equidistant from Trollhattan and Goteborg.
Plausible!!
The email address entered was genuine. Haven’t had comms with him before, but have had the address for a while.
Great- Bjorn Envall really is Mr Design Scandinavia and was very kind to me over my Saab 999 and 900 book.
And EV1 was one of the best concept car projects ever.
Great to think he reads this site Swade1
I got a tip to check in here!
Congratulation to an outstanding Saab-sight!
Well, my older brother Björn is a man of all kind of expressions! Play is life!
He has followed me to a lot of drag races over the years just to get impulses by not only the burnouts and the perfomances but mostly by the fantasy work of designs and colors created on all the various cars by all the teams!
But I know that Björn – and our middle brother Sune (also an automotive artist) – mostly has gone to LeMans and various F1-races to get the right feeling of The Car!
Yes, he wants to do a burnout sitting in his beautiful EV1. Who would be the one stopping it from happening?
When I was little, Björn did burnouts with the front wheels for me with all sorts of Saab projects – before the word for it even was invented. That’s certainly formed me =)
Go SAAB! It’s for playing boys…
