Leftlane News have some pictures of an Opel Insignia hatchback, which one could take to be a pointer of a Saab 9-5 hatchback to come in the future. Or not.

The most elegant Saab in the world has made it’s way to a new home.
Congratulations, Golfhunter!

One reason why I’m not grinding my teeth too much over US sales this year is that everyone’s feeling the pinch. Even the mighty Toyota is forecasting a grim year with profits dropping almost 30%.
But at least they have profits to drop.
As an aside, I was looking at Aussie sales figures a few days ago (to be posted tomorrow) and the #1 marque here in Australia last month was Toyota with 20,000 sales, plus change. The #2 brand here in Australia was Holden with just over 10,000 sales.
They sold twice the number of cars as their nearest competitor last month. That’s rather incredible.

Speaking of numbers, Tobias tells me that the 100,000th ethanol-powered car has just recently been delivered in Sweden.
The first ethanol car was delivered 14 years ago and it took seven years to sell the 300th ethanol vehicle. From 2001 to 2007 there were 50,000 sold and in just the last 15 months the number has risen from 50,000 to 100,000.
Pundits are picking that there may be 100,000 ethanol vehicles sold in 2009 alone in Sweden.

Wow. I hate photos.

I give you the Trollhattan Saab guarantee: If you listen to this song you will be condemned to having it go ’round in your head for at least the next 24 hours. I think every guy’s known someone like this, probably back in their early 20’s.

i guess i don’t understand the whole ethanol thing.
1) i see folks putting it in ’80’s and ’90’s “beater” vehicles, probably because it’s more affordable than real gasoline. i thought the stuff only runs in newer-model vehicles, that are specially designed for ethanol. so, how can “beaters” run on ethanol?; and
2) isn’t ethanol exacerbating world hunger?

nice “journalist”-type pick, swade. not as colorful as taking photos of the viggen in your stocking feet, though.

the video reminds me of my first girlfriend, who relished breaking my heart. yep, as i remember, “nothin’ sweet ’bout her….” (in a way, i was like one of those bondage extras–without the hardware, of course.)

I somehow doubt the new 9-5 will come in a hatch? But here’s hoping!

9x - All of those beaters have been modified to take E85 or E100. A lot of old diesels have been modified to use vegetable oil, also. And probably.

Gabriella is a “wog girl” (and I mean that in a most affectionate way) from Dandenong, near Melbourne, a stones throw from me. And, yes, irritatingly catchy.

That curvaceous front wing on the 96 is glorious. In the full resolution on Flickr it’s even better. A beautiful convertible.

The only super-addictive song i know is Caramell Dansen by Caramell. Here in a faster version together with some kind of hypnotic anime loop :S
