UPDATE – first pic below!
——
Now that the day is over I can tell you the reason why I was encouraging everyone to get their names on the Trollhattan Saab Map last week.
Today, SaabUSA took one of the first production Saab Turbo X’s out for a spin on one of their own tracks to run it up against some of the competition.
Our man on the scene turned out to be Wulf, who drove his new-to-him Saab 9-5 Aero down from northern Michigan to attend the event.
I haven’t heard back from Wulf yet, but it was expected that he would also get a chance to take the Turbo X for a brief spin during the session.
As soon as he checks in I’ll post his thoughts and images from the event.

UPDATE
Wulf’s back. It was a three-hour trip one-way so the writeup may not come in for a little while, but initial reports indicate that the day was an absolute hoot!
Here’s one of the first pics that Wulf’s sent through. They must have been doing a bit of promo photography work as well, hence the presence of the black 900 Turbo.
The other purpose for the day was to run some internal times against some of the Turbo X’s competition. Please note the Teutonic parking being exhibited between the 900 and the Turbo X.

It is a gorgeous day here in the north east region of the United States. I am anxious to see how the test went.
Can’t wait to hear about this one, esp. how the ‘other black turbo’ fared.
I’ve just received a number of pics, which I’ll post tonight with Wulf’s story from the day. The pics look awsome and the paint job on that 900 is something that defies belief
I want video of the Turbo X running circles around that BMW.
is the Bmw a 4 door M3 or a 5 with M kit?
a.
This looks like Grattan race track in Michigan.
I’d love to see some in car of this run as this is
one very busy racetrack. I have run there several times in some purpose built race cars,
wonder what kind of times they turned??
