At Wulf’s test drive of the Turbo X today, SaabUSA brought along the pristine 1985 Saab 900 from the GM Heritage Collection.
This car was restored last year just prior to the Boston Auto Show where the Saab Turbo X made it’s North American debut. There’s some photos of the finished car in Boston here and some photos of the build here and here. It really is something special.
Enjoy the latest pics and click any of them to enlarge.
This next shot is just unbelievable. Look at the shine!
Absolutely amazing……

Mmm, that leather looks sooo inviting.
Amazing job, amazing car!
Looks fantastic. It’s a pity US headlight restrictions in 1985 only allowed for primitive sealed beams. It would look much better with the Euro spec halogens and headlight wipers that came on an ’85 Aero.
I thought my leather was in good shape!
The car spent all of its life in Southern California so there was hardly any rust on the car when it was donated by the previous owner. The leather did look very nice and they went to great effort to get the correct grade and color. Smelled great as well.
The other amazing thing about that 900 is that it has 250,000 miles on it.
I talked to the guy who restored it while I was at the Boston show. Really nice guy.
The black 08 BMW M3 was that the “benchmark” car
??
There was a car exactly like this in an episode of Veronica Mars being driven around by a con man. It was just as clean and just as shiny.
I miss that show.
That c900 makes me crazy !!!!!
golfhunter, I concour.
I WANT a C900 so badly (SPG or CE please!)…but then I would have to give up my 9-5 Aero…what to do!
I also want a Turbo X just as badly, but that isn’t a dilema, as I don’t have enough cash for one.
Wow that is one beautiful SPG with flawless paintwork too! Someone obviously appreciates the old 900.
I’m experiencing LUST!!!
I wish that color interior were available with your jet-black SAAB today instead of putty-grey.
