Saab tuning magic by Hirsch – 9-3 style

Have you seen the Hirsch 9-5 yet?

Accompanying that gorgeous black 9-5 SportCombi is this Lynx Yellow 9-3 Convertible.

It too has received the Hirsch tuning treatment, lifting its output to 275hp. It’s also got a set of lowering springs, 18-inch Hirsch Performance rims and the full leather treatment on the dash, doorhandles and handbrake.

  1. Clearly, what is Saab still waiting now to deliver a 3rd tier in luxury above the standard Aero with the Hirsch interior accessories ??? We’ve gone over too many times on the ECU matters so no need to repeat. But they could certainly OEM the dash board, doors, middle console enhancements. If Saab was serious about lifting its own position, image, game etc etc couldn’t they already done so through Hirsch ??? These guys add ons are simply exquisite to say the least.

  2. All 9-3s should have this interior treatment! As much as I like the 9-3 interior, some materials feel a bit cheap – this would sort it out a little :)

  3. Love it!

    Especially those wheels.

I really can’t understand why these interior upgrades are not standard fit on Aero and Vector trims and at least an option on lower trims! Really perplexing!

  4. Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed the door handles on the exterior??? (THEY LOOK LIKE THEY USED TO…. i thought the new ones weren’t like that, and ugly. Hirsch did something to them?)

  5. @vig: The reason why the 9-3 Convertible uses the old exterior door-handles (and more..) is because it is made at the Magna Steyr factory in Austria, and not alongside the rest of the 9-3 range in Trollhättan. And I’m guessing the GM beancounters wouldn’t let them alter more pieces than neccesary on the convertible.

  6. Edonis: I didn’t know that, and now searched some pictures…I really don’t get why they don’t all use the same parts, it looks inconsistent seeing the sedan with a different handle alongside the cabrio with these (and other things too..? do you know where I could read up no some of this stuff?)
