I hate when people report these recalls before they start. Now my service writer is goin to be getting calls all the time from people who want to bring there cars in because they read the word “RECALL” and didn’t take the time to read that the recall doesn’t even start for 4 more months.

I like they way they turn caps-lock off to write a heading.

Eric, I feel your service writer’s pain, but once it’s out there…. what’s a blogger to do?

I wondered about the language as well, but it’s a genuine notice accessed via the NHTSA.

As a multi-Saab vehicle family, what WE hate is employees at the Saab dealership that have slightly less that optimal opinions of what customer service is… All your service writer has to do is tell customers that “the official recall notices will be coming directly from Saab in the next few months and once the replacement parts have arrived at our dealership, we will be able to set up an appointment for you”. Unfortunately for me, the service team lead I’ve been assigned at my Saab dealership in DC has the same “attitude” about serving customers. That said, we will, as always, wait for the official recall letter from Saab. (This is #4 or 5 now, I’ve lost track.)

Maybe the mgt at Continental Motors(?) will read this blog and have a little talk with their service write and techs.
