More Saab 96 convertibles

Show one and all of a sudden they’re everywhere!!

In addition to the beautiful white Saab 96 cabriolet that Golfhunter showed us yesterday, there’s now been another two Saab 96 converibles uncovered – and I’m on the hunt for more!

This 96 convertible was photographed at the SOC at Weston Park, 13th July 1985. The original slide has been scanned and added to Flickr. There’s more photos from the SOC here, but click to enlarge the ragtop 96, below.

Secondly, we have this red 96, currently for sale at Swedish Motors in Pennsylvania. There’s no price listed on the ad page, but I’m guessing that they’re looking for a fair bit. They did the job themselves, for starters, and it’s done less than 1,000 miles!!

If you’ve any pics of a 96 convertible, please let me know and I’ll add them to the gallery.

The white one’s still the pick of the bunch for me. It’s so classy. Using Golfhunter’s comments and additional photos from Flickr, I’ve prepared a fuller entry about the car over at The Spirit of Saab.

  1. The red one without bumpers is not very classy according to me .Otherwise , the english one is not bad at all .I like the colour .
Swade I send others pictures of the white one via email . And if you want more details , I will be able to do that from Sunday on because I’m the purchaser .
    Cheers

  2. The owner of Swedish Motors has some VERY NICE Saabs in his private collection, he also has one of the earliest 99 Turbos in the U.S. Its a notchback, and it looks fantastic.

  3. I used to have a Saab 96 convertible. I bought it from the guy who built it (in Brighton) had some great fun in it for a few years and sold it in the mid-nineties. I have pics somewhere, but it was featured in Street Machine magazine at the time. I was purple with silver flames and seriously lowered suspension. I’ll find the pics if you’re interested.
