Is everyone going to Spain for Saab in June?
Today I noted that Saab Austalia were giving away a trip for two to Spain to drive the Turbo X. All we Aussies have to do is book a test drive as part of the Black Turbo promotion that’s just started.
It seems we’re not the only ones, though.
Robin M just sent me these via email….click either to enlarge
And it seems it not just SaabUK who are giving trips away over there, either.
JWLanky has just linkd me up with Hereford Saab’s giveaway page (mind your eyes - terrible coloring). It seems that those who purchased a Saab Turbo X through Hereford before the end of March receive a date at this Turbo X driving school for free.
The place is IDIADA, a test track near Barcelona in Spain, normally only available to manufacturers’ test crews. The dates are 7 - 8 June 2008.
And there’s you in the driver’s seat of a Saab Turbo X, being instructed by a Saab Performance Team driver. Taming 280 hp through the combination of advanced driving techniques and the XWD’s all wheel drive system. You’ll be testing the car - and yourself - in a multitude of conditions including wet and dry surfaces, mud and gravel and, of course, pulse-racing high speed driving.
Recent mail has indicated that some other Saab UK owners might be in line for this as well.
It sounds like a continental Aero Academy. But more than that it sounds like a bucketload of fun.
That’s the United Kingdom and Australia counted in for this so far. Are there any other markets that will be participating?

From what I understand the 2 buyers of the Turbo X in Singapore have been offered a trip to Spain to drive the Turbo X. Maybe the same event.
Swade, there is any possibility that a Spanish guy, that lives near Barcelona could go to this event??
PD: I will ask to the dealer what he knows about this.
regards
IDIADA is a closed track for testing and homologation. If you manage to have acces, you can’t take pictures there, because they are a lot of protoypes there.
the highspeed track has four lanes, with the two of them limited on minimum speeds… very cool
