Gents (and Blix and Kaylan), I’ve just recently become aware of GMNext.com, and, of course, I’ve not gone through it in any great detail.
Many of you love to hate on GM. I don’t. But, then again, I was driving GM products for the most part right up until I got my first Saab, unlike most of you. In this case, I encourage you take a different stance. GM is trying here. Let’s give them the benefit of the doubt. Plus, I have a bit of an agenda which will be revealed later.
There is a wiki set up on the site, so I wandered over to see what that was about. I was presented with this picture:
That’s right, our own Saab Viggen gracing the front page of the wiki. I was a little surprised, until I read the label: “globalization”. Jeez, thanks. We’re the token foreign brand, great :eyeroll:.
And then I had another thought.
This is a wiki, right? Something to which people all over the world contribute, correct? Well, I think that we’ve got people in the TS community here that could handle this with one hand behind their backs. People with real skills and real stories.
My idea is this: GMNext.com is a reasonably open forum that is read by General Motors, even sponsored by GM. If we want Saab to succeed, we need for GM to know exactly what worked and what didn’t in Saab’s past and present. The wiki at GMNext.com is another great platform to exploit to further our cause.
I encourage you to sign up and contribute if you have something to say. And, generally, our readers have much to say on the subject of Saabs.

Thanks for the link Eggs, and the viewpoint on GM. Like you, I had been driving GM vehicles up until I go my 9-3 last year. From my perspective, the 9-3 is that car GM could never build.
Lucky for GM that Saab built it for them.
At any rate, hopefully some of the enthusiasm from this site will benefit Saab on that one.
I’m absolutely sure that I’m the only regular on this site that would rather have that Buick than the Viggen.
Just saw this awesome review of the Turbo X.
It is very comprehensive and gives lap times of the Turbo X vs M3, A4 & STI

I am sure that there are a lot of people in GM who would want to do good things for Saab, but on the other hand I am afraid too much power is with men in black = people counting beans.
For the site mentioned here, it is not going to be read by the right people at GM.
Ken: You never know until you try.
Jeff: LOL — I was thinking the exact same thing was I was writing the post!! I think that I convinced myself that the GTO was in an “unobtainable” class of cars and thus not eligible for ownership, but that Buick is simply cool as all get out. The color is the perfect color for that car, which is why it’s on the picture, I suppose!!
I’m telling you, watch the Mecum auctions on television, you’ll be hooked.
BTW, that Buick reminds me of the 1950 Chevrolet ‘vert that Steve McQueen drove in “The Hunter”. Same color and around the same year as the Buick. Good flick. All Steve McQueen flicks have great cars in them.
