Turbo X on video - awesome!



The following is a video shot recently in northern Sweden. It’s the Turbo X and Aero XWD versions of the Saab 9-3 being shown off a little and it’s just awesome. The circle-work is something to behold, as is the soundtrack :-)

Congrats to 900Aerocom for shooting it, and thanks to Tobias for the link.

      boy that exhaust sounds great.

      only other exhaust i’ve ever heard that sounds that good was on a Volvo S60r, but this is the best to date.

      The camera microphone isn’t the best. So the sound is much better, than what you can hear in this segment. And the driving…. marvelous!
      I spent around 2h in the TurboX and 2 hours in the Aero XWD (without the eLSD). And the difference in handling is crystal clear. As the Turbo X is already fully booked in Sweden (all 175 cars), so I need to wait to the 2009 to get me my next car.

      OMG! What a CAR! I wish I´ll get possibility to test one someday! Acceleration on snowy road and on ice looks very easy! No need for driver input too much it seems. I´m really looking forward to test XWD. I really wish theyd make TTiD version too.
      Our roads today look very much the same like the roads on Åre, so I think I´d have some use for XWD in a real life.

      Cheers Widde for the video!! I´m really jealous to you right now!!! Can you describe more the difference of eLSD/ no eLSD? I know you´ve driven fwd 9-3, can you tell how big the difference is on a snow/ice? The only thing I hate on my new 9-3 SC TTiD is that when its slippery or ice grooves on the road, you just cannot press the pedal without having annoying steering effects and sliding from side to side. Though, if I compare 9-3 to previous 9000, the handling makes a world of difference in the benefit of 9-3. SC has a habit of being a bit oversteery on slippery surface, I guess with XWD it´ll even beat Legacy in fun factor!!

      Thanks MarkoA, The difference between FWD and XWD is immense. Not even on the same scale. The ESP is almost the same, but when introducing the eLSD that’s even another ball game.

      Saab would’ve done well to loan us one of these for Alcan. Could have done well on the ice slalom! Perhaps next time…
