Saab Turbo X pricing for Spain has been released, with the lineup costing as follows:

Saab Turbo X

The two options there are electric sunroof and the Bose entertainment system with navigation and voice recognition, etc.

Thanks Eduard!

In some disturbing news from Spain, EduSaab also sent in the sales numbers for January. Spain took over from Germany as Saab’s fourth biggest market a year or so ago. The news for January, wasn’t particularly encouraging, however.

Saab sold just 267 vehicles in Spain in January 2008, which was around 41% down on the year before.

Saab Australia once had an incentive campaign where they were giving away a portable SatNav unit with appropriate models covered by the campaign (can’t remember the specifics).

I remember thinking it sounded a little cheap-ish at the time, until i thought about it some more. The factory vs aftermarket SatNav argument is a good one and makes for an entertaining read.

Michael Karesh at TrueDelta covers the issues quite nicely here: Do built-in navigation systems make sense?

From the Karesh article: “The disadvantages aren’t as clear, but could easily outweigh the disadvantages.” Boy, I’m really confused now, and I was confused enough before I read the article.

I know which I prefere. I have a tomtom which I can take from car to car, it has the latest european maps which cost me less than £40. total cost so far £200, differant cars used in - 6. I even to it to Sweden the time I flew and used it in the hire car. Gary has the inbuilt version with 2006 maps. There is an upgrade but it is roughly £400. I can get 3 more up-to-date tomtoms for that. Everyone has their choices, I know mine.

why are not the turbo-x wheels on the turbo-x?

    • Swade said:

I’d say he’s an employee or such and this is a pre-production model for evaluation and road testing. The wheels, other than being the right size, shouldn’t make too much of a difference.

He has snow tires on the car as the wheel/tire combo on the TurboX is not compatible with winter driving conditions for those of us who has anything that actually resembles winter.
