IntSaab 2008 coming soon
One of the biiiiiiig events coming up on the Saab calendar is IntSaab 2008.
IntSaab is held every 2nd year, alternating with the Saab Festival. Where the Saab Festival is always held in Trollhattan, IntSaab moves from country to country. The last IntSaab was hosted by Svenska SaabKlubben in Sweden in 2006, and this year’s IntSaab is being hosted by the Latvian Saab Club - in Latvia (surprise, surprise).
IntSaab is basically a big international gathering of Saabists at a campground for several days. There’s a parts market as well as a beauty show (for the cars). The program is as follows:
Friday, August 8, 2008
Morning:
- Meeting and check-in at the Mezrozes camping.
Afternoon:
- Check–in and a sightseeing route.
Evening:
- Official opening of the “26th International SAAB Club Meeting 2008” and a Grill Party.
Saturday, August 9, 2008
Morning:
- International SAAB Rally 2008, a tour with special tasks but without complicated orienteering (for locals, of course
Afternoon:
- You may still be on the tour, maybe not
Voting for the SAAB Beauty contest.
Evening:
- Buffet Dinner with entertainment. Prizes and Special Prizes. Saturday night SAAB Disco. Sauna, smoke sauna, lake, pool.
Sunday, August 10, 2008
Late morning:

Afternoon:
- Closing of the Meeting.

If three quick days (and believe me, they’ll go quick) don’t sound like enough to you, the Saab Club of Latvia are running another event leading up to the IntSaab meeting. Sounds like a good plan if you ask me, especially if you’re travelling from elsewhere in Europe to get there.
This year marks the 10th Anniversary of the Saab Club of Latvia, so I’m sure they’ll be going full tilt in order to put on a great event. The plans are so big, in fact, that they need a ladder to get to them all!
I’ve shown some videos from IntSaab 2006 previously. You can see them here and here. One is a little long, but well worth the effort.

Well, yet another Saab gathering that I’d love to attend but cannot due to scheduling issues.
I’d like to visit the Baltic States, too. Someday it will happen!
Can i correct a little mistake …the intsaab is not held every two years , but usualy each year, even when festival is held in Trollhättan, but not when it’s an anniversary festival like 1997 and 2007…but intsaab was in 2004 in Denmark,2005 in Germany,2006 in Sweden,2008 in latvia,2009 in the Netherlands….;)
I cant make Latvia but I’ll be driving to the Dutch one as well as flying to Sweden in 2009.
2009 will be great year !
Thanks Etienne. I assumed two years as 2006 and 2008 were the only years I was familiar with so I thought that was the pattern. Corrections will be made.
