We’re helping out a team of students from George Washington University as they work on a Saab advertising campaign for the 2008 Saab 9-3, with XWD, for the Boston market. There’s been a few previous posts on this already and I’d like to thank all of you who have helped out so far with your stories and ideas.
This Tuesday the 25th, at 6pm EST, the group will be holding a chat session, a workshop of sorts, in a bid to get a better handle on how 9-3 owners see their cars and Saab owners see their brand.
I’ve sent around a dozen invitations to various people so far, people who I felt had the relevant knowledge, experience and/or geographic relevance. I don’t know everyone’s story or location, however, so I’d like to ask anyone who’d be interested to please give some thought to participating.
If you’re interested, then please let me know in comments or via email and I’ll pass the required workshop info along.

It’s not that often that some direct input is sought from the Saab community in something like this, something that will be presented to the brass at SaabUSA. I hope we’re able to make a meaningful contribution.
I think I would have some good insight. Could you include me? I live out West btw
I’d be happy to participate — live in Washington, DC. Have owned four Saabs:
Past:
1997 900 SET
2002 9-5 Aero SC
Present:
1992 900 Turbo convertible
2006 9-3 Aero SC
In between, I’ve owned BMWs (3 and 5 series), and I always come back to Saab.
Well, just ended, and it was fun. I didn’t add much but Kroum made up for my shortcomings.
I wanted to participate however I had to work tonight. Drat.
Hope everyone involved had fun!
Am pleased to hear it, TedY. I’ve asked GWU for a transcript so hopefully I’ll get to see what went down. Can’t wait to read it.
I had to bail early on, my 1 year 1/2 year starting having a tantrum! The joys of parenthood. I barely got a word in, the comments were fast and furious, GWU got an ear full of Saab love and ideas!
Interesting chat sessions overall.
What surprised me the most is that none of them own a Saab, nor have they driven one. Clearly, one of the area’s Saab dealers should step in a give them a car or two for a test drive. It really is somewhat strange to communicate a message about Saab’s values to someone who has never experienced one first-hand.
It was a good session with fellow Saabers. Agree with Kroum, they should take a field trip to International Motors in Virginia and test drive a 9-3 and look around the lot. Lots of ’08s there. DC is a Saab town, so perhaps street walking will help slightly. I signed up to look at their campaign, and hopefully they’ll continue to rope us in.
