Turbo X road tested in Europe
It seems the Dutch links to Turbo X road tests that I posted yesterday were just for openers.
A multitude of other funny-speaking sites have now published their reviews as well. I’ll add the links in here so you Euro types can go and check them out. ctm’s also been kind enough to summarise the main points from the Swedish ones for us:
- + design
+ power
+ steering wheel
+ stability on the road
- break-feeling
- extreme under-steer, not fun on a track (more on that shortly….)
- + the 4wd fantastic
“no rough street racer, more sofisticated type of car”
“may well be worth the money [compared to a Aero XWD]“
- +stability
+ nice to let the back-end slide [over-steer, the opposite of what AMS thought...?]
“there will be a 9-3X more suited for off-road that these cars”
“xwd will be available with other engines, the new TTiD with XWD should be appriciated”

Funny-speaking sites, eh? I think the same of the Aussie accent…
Swade, most Aussies would say the TurboX is “noice” or better yet, “its a bloody ripper!”. In England they’d say “its the dogs bollocks”. Here in Canada they’d say “what’s a Saab?” or probably “cool, eh?!”.
As long as the language is positive, I don’t think we care!
I like that the reviews can’t agree on whether it under- or oversteers.
That’s a good sign that the car can be made to do what you want, depending on throttle and steering inputs.
Or maybe one car had a flat tire and the reviewer didn’t notice.
