SOTW - Sunday Saab
Prizes for the Saab Pride of Ownership competition will be mailed out this week.
Now that the competition is done and dusted, it’s time for a return of Saab O The Week - the section where we feature reader’s rides. This will give us a chance to appreciate all the cars but without me having to worry about picking out favourites
If you’ve got a picture or two that you think are worthwile showing as Saab O The week, then send them in to sotw@trollhattansaab.net

Our first entry in SOTW revisited comes from Jacco. It’s a Saab we’ve seen before but is well worth seeing again, especially in such a beautiful setting. It’s a 1984 Saab 99 and whilst I personally preferred it with the minilite wheels, there’s nothing lacking with the Incas on this magnificent, straight 99.
The occasion was a meeting of the members from saabforum.nl back in January. Photos of Jacco’s 99 are below, but there’s a bunch of other Saab photos from the event at Saabforum.nl - some awesome cars there, too!

Echte Lekker Saabs uit Nederland!
Mooi. Very Mooi.
Woats vith der lights on der front-end. Shomething vor de veekend shurely..
Seriously, great shots, and does’nt that 99 look good in that colour- even it has half of Schipol’s runway lights on the front…
The Dutch really do lurve they Saabs.
Fantastic 99 ! I love her calander with those US front lights . What a great look !
Wow, what a beauty!
I may have to get a 99.
Fantastic colour, very vogue.
eggs: I must warn you, after driving a 99 while owning a C900 (as I did in the 99T in the GM Heritage Collection) it takes some getting used-to. Everything feels much more “manual”. The lack of power steering takes some getting used-to. In a way it feels more like you’re driving the car rather than the car driving you, and is quite a lot of fun, but I can imagine the novelty would wear off pretty quickly as a daily driver! Weekend driving would be a blast though.
Can’t see the reason for the US style headlights,
but I bet their not ’sealed beams’ like the US had to have!
RE: Can’t see the reason for the US style headlights
4x high beam in midwinter nights…
It was and is of good use to me.. also good for flashing Bimmers and Audi’s…
Thank you all
The colour btw is valnutbrun 169G
