Some rare Saabs from Hirsch
Rene Hirsch doesn’t just run Saab’s officially recognised tuning company. He doesn’t just modify vehicles so that they provide the pinnacle in Saab performance. He’s also quite a collection of Saabs on show and in the garage.
I’ve come across numerous group shots on Flickr, like this one…

The best individual photos I’ve seen of the Hirsch collection are at this link on Flickr.
Some of them and some others have been passed on to me by the guys at Hirsch. So take a quick look through Rene’s garage. It’s an awesome collection that now includes Saab Sonett #4, the green Sonnet, and one of only six ever made.
The green Sonett’s journey is a fascinating one and involves being stripped of it’s own body and given a new one by a one-time owner named Facett. Rene Hirsch also owns the Facett body and is in the process of building that body onto a new car.

This even beats Jay Leno’s garage. All we need now are video road tests like Jay has.
Magnifique !
Cool!
I noticed that he had a couple of low slung cars at one end of the garage. What other cars does he work on? I was thinking he was exclusively SAAB.
They also sell Lamborghinis. You can see two black Gallardos in the 6th picture!
Someone imported a 9-7x as well, it appears. Wonder what Hirsch is going to push out of that beast?!
Wow. WOW! Do you think that Mr. Hirsch would like to adopt a 44-year-old American with a couple of minor character flaws? If there’s even a slight chance, I’m calling him up and offering my services.
Golfhunter: I’ll bring you on board as my interpreter, and we’ll get Saabhuy to hook us up with some Belgian beer.
I’m telling you, this could work. Or, should I say: C’est magnifique! Je m’appelle Michel Hirsch!!
So Rene has the green Sonett 1 that was restored by Dr. Klaus Muller Ott.
Eggs.. Please do so and I promise I´ll buy my next Saab from you. A bonus having you in Europe could be for you to teach us just how to make grits.. Or even the Euro-American dish Grits Eggs Benedict..
The title of the book in the following link sounds kinda funny.. 101 Things to do with Grits

This is completely off topic but……
is it just me or does Renes garage remind anyone else of Ferris Buellers Day Off….?
