Saab Pride - all arty Belgian Style
It’s time for yet another non-entry in the Saab Pride of Ownership competition and I’m pleased to say that all things going well, prizes should be awarded next week!! Unfortunately this one won’t be counted in the voting as Wilfried’s already got an entry in featuring two cars (a superb entry, I might add).
Elkparts ship goods to Belgium, which is good for Wilfried to know, just in the event he might need something for his exquisite Saab 9-5 wagon.
My wife was born in this town!

About this 9-5: it is the replacement for the 900 i-16 convertible as per the previous entry.
About the setting & landmark: The pictures are taken at intersection between Albertkanaal, Kanaalkom and the ring around Hasselt, (small) capital city of the province of Limburg, Belgium.
The spot was even nicer in the past with a derelict railway steel bridge, now demolished.

It is amazing how interconnected the global village has become: I studied at the Maastricht School of Management, Maastricht, the Netherlands (EU monetary treaty was signed there in 1992) which is in the province of Limburg and used to travel thru to Luik or Liege, Belgium and a little quaint town called Raeren. Wilfried’s entry and reference to Limburg just touched something in my student day’s brain and all the nostalgia flooded back, bar the beautiful Saab as I could not afford one then.
Limburg - that sounds familiar. I studied at the Maastricht School of Management, Maastricht - (the Maas river ran riot right across town), province of Limburg, the Netherlands during the latter part of the 90’s and used to travel to Luik (Dutch) or Liege, Belgium and a little town called Raeren just across the border. Aachen in Germany was close by if my memory serves me well. Truly a global village and TS has touched all corners of the globe by today’s standards. Wilfried, your TiD 9-5 in the first picture says it all!
Amazing photos of a beautiful Saab!
Those “double-3″ wheels look fantastic
on that 9-5!!!!!!!
Danni,
Nice to hear you had good time back then in Maastricht.
And yes, during my studies, i couldn’t afford a saab (car) either, all distances were covered by foot, bike or train and only very occasionally by my fathers cars.
Close to this ‘Euregio’ are 3 famous and nice racing circuits located, so if you pass Maastricht or its regio with your saab, you’re welcome. (We might have a run at Francorchamps, Zolder or the Nürburgring…)
Nice wheels…and you can certainly tell it must be Belgium given the weather
Only a few Westmalle’s or a bunch of De Konick’s would make up for the chilly fog
