The US market will be getting it’s own Lynx Yellow special edition convertible in Spring this year.
I’ve managed to get some details through, as follows:
The Lynx Yellow Convertible Package will only be available on the 2.0T and it has these goodies included:
- - 300W 10-speaker Premium audio system, w/ 6CD changer
- Rear spoiler (like the one on the Aero)
- Lynx Yellow exterior paint
- 17” 5-spoke alloy wheels (the MY06/MY07 Aero wheels)
- Both Parchment and Black interior available
Could be good in the sunny states. The color will definitely be a polarising factor, but I like it.
Pricing: $ 2,495

In other pricing news….
By the way: you knew that the XWD Package will cost $ 2,645 and includes XWD, special 17” wheels and self-levelling suspension rear?
Now that’s going to be great value!

I’ll keep the source of this info unnamed. Not an insider, but his dealer might take umbrage. I’ve confirmed it with a Djup Strupe, however, and everything seems to be on the money.
Seems a bit high, no? Maybe $1k for the wheels, $600 for the Bose, and $200 for the spoiler?
Is the rest of the cost for paint?
Also, Swade, any update on the Bose CenterPoint? Wasn’t that supposed to be out in December?
Black and Yellow. I’d have to call the car The Hornet – mess with me and I’ll sting you!!
they need to offer the fun colors on cars other than just the vert
I’d love to see them offer a monte carlo or lynx yellow as well as some sort of bright flat blue to play up the “swedish pride” thing.
Fun, IKEA-esque stuff like that is a must if Saab wants to differentiate itself again.
Lightning Blue for the 9-3. My favorite Saab colour of all time!
On the international site, if you select 9-3>>Aero XWD under ‘Build Your Saab’ you can see the 17″ wheels for the XWD Aero. Pretty nice. Various sites list US XWD pricing as $2,354 dealer invoice, $2,645 MSRP.
The question remains, will $2,645 also get you eLSD in MY2009 when it is said to come standard with XWD in the US? If so, why would anyone buy a MY08 when a superior equipped MY09 can be had in Oct-Nov? Not to mention MY09 should also have the new Bluetooth capable OnStar system (I know Bluetooth is not an issue for elsewhere in the world, but it is here in the US where many States are banning driver use of hand held cell phones while driving).
If eLSD is truly to be standard in the US for MY09, I do not see how Saab is going to sell many XWD Aeros this year. I want one, but there will have to be some pretty nice incentives this summer to forgo eLSD and Bluetooth.
