Those beautiful white cabs
Mario P recently sent me through a few pics from the Vienna Motor Show and it seems Saab are deliberately pushing those beautiful white cabriolets that we all lusted after when the first official 08 convertible shots came out of Australia late last year. One might have thought that Lynx Yellow might become the signature color for this model, but it’s certainly working the show floor beautifully in white.
Of course, the Austrians took particular pride in constructing the vehicle that was displayed at their home show. Saab Convertibles are built at the Magna Steyr plant in Graz, Austria.
But it’s not just there that Saab have been showing off this Arctic White beauty. Here it is taking a lot of Richo’s lens time in Sydney last year.
And here it is in Detroit just last week.
Whatever the reasoning, they can hardly go wrong. The combination of white, black and steel just works so well. This 08 convertible in white is just pure beauty. And best of all, there’s no additional charge for metallic paint!

That car is The Hotness.
I’ve been trying to talk my mom into one of these for months.
That white is the best colour ive seen on a Saab ever. It just works so well on the new Aero face.
Saab - if your reading - make the turbo x in artic white and ill be down to the dealers with my check book within seconds!
And it still remains a mystery why the swedish-built cars are offered in Polar White instead of this (Arctic White).
Arctic white is the best colour especially when it is matched with sand top.
I don’t think you can get an Aero in Polar While, at least not in the US.
Correction - this one is Arctic White….what’s up with that?
the pressure of keeping that white would kill me. nevertheless, it’s beautiful.
In the western region of the U.S., three out of every four remaining 2007 convertibles are Arctic White. Crazy deals can be had if you seek them out.
It really is a shame that Saab don’t offer white on the Aero model - Any reasons?
Sorry guys, i didn’t have the camera with me as i passed European Motor Show in Brussels this week.
The white convertible was presented at the right corner on the saab-stand - if you check the cam at saab.be it’s lefthand down the picture.
Nice white colour (reminded me of my beloved but now sold 1990 900 i-16 convertible in Cirrus White), but i prefered the lynx yellow in the centre, that’s an astonishing colour (altough a bit ‘ma-tu-vu’ , as we say over here, a certain degree of posing too much).

I tried a little talking my father in law into a 9-3 convertible instead of his Discovery, which he complains about being too thirsty, but he’s looking out for something more sportier and with more ‘drivers car’-appeal (Honda S 2000 as it turns out at the moment - that won’t help his future fuel consumption, but must be fun on the road … ).
Well, i found out that SaabHuy did take his camera to Brussels and i assume he prefered the lynx above the white:

These vehicles are beautiful. I could not stop taking pictures of them at the Houston Auto Show.
We went this year to get a better idea of what car/crossover/suv my sister would be getting a year from now. We looked at all these crossovers but we just lusted over these cars. It totally breaks the idea of what she needs (big dog), but they are just beautiful.
Saab9x : keeping the white is easier than the darker colors. I own a nocturn blue vert. and it’s not as bad as black but you have to keep up with it. I love to care for my Saab so it does not bother me. I do also love the white, looks classy.
