Some more Hirsch hotness

As you all know, I’m a big fan of the work done by Rene Hirsch and team.

I just received a bunch of (small) photos from a Saab dealer in Switzerland of a new 2008 Saab Convertible for sale there. They get the vehicles modified by Hirsch prior to sale, so you can actually go and pick up a Hirsch car there, right off the lot.

This one’s a 2.0T with Hirsch wheels, ECU uprated to 230hp, uprated brakes and exhaust (note the dual pipes), as well as a bunch of interior enhancements with leather added to the dash, handbrake and doors handles. It’s the little things that make all the difference, people.

A stunning example in black!

As a small side note, I believe Mr Hirsch is now the owner of Saab Sonett #4, the green one that was the subject of a limited edition book a couple of years ago.

Here’s a krazy idea to help with Saab sales in the U.S…. BRING HIRSCH!!!

Jc7222, unfortunately bringing Hirsch to the U.S. would not do much for regular sales. People will ask the question why do I have to pay 2-3K extra for something that should already be standard on a car that class?

Here’s another crazy idea how to help Saab sales globally: make luxuries like a leather-wrapped dash and accents standard on all Saabs and people will buy them.

You hit the nail on the head, that car has the interior, horsepower, wheels, and interior that ALL 2.0T’s should have from the factory. We shouldn’t be having to whine about not having hirsch in the US, the simple warranty-friendly stuff that hirsch does should be the car’s standard equipment.

If I were a saab dealer over here I’d be bulk ordering those hirsch leather interior kits and installing them on all of my unsold 9-3’s. And the dealers around here seem to have no shortage of unsold 2008’s.

I’m not sure how I’d feel about the dual exhaust being standard on the 2.0T 9-3ss and sc’s, but it and the aero kit should be standard equipment on ALL trim levels of the convertible. People buy the convertible to be seen in, and saab needs to fire the big guns in the looks department if they want to steal buyers from all of the newer competitors in the 9-3 vert’s segment. Oh and offer that turbo-X white color on all models too.

Lovely- except the appalling fit of the leather on the drivers seat bolster- i would reject that car without any hesitation.

Sadly, such poor leather on the seats - which crinkles and creases very badly within the first few hundred miles - is a current Saab 93 trait.

Such a shame. No wonder Hirsch have to upgrade the interior-
