Saab Pride – Montacute Style

Once again, it’s time for another page of the Saab Pride book :-)

The Saab Pride of Ownership competition is brought to your screens by either Apple, Microsoft or Firefox. Oh, and TS and Elkparts.

Today’s entry comes from the files of the Unofficial Ambassador for Saab GB. These aren’t Robin M’s Saabs, they belong to family members – Gary and Annette – who have purchased Saabs after experiencing the beauty of a Saab 9-5 Aero Wagon at the hands of Robin himself.

The place is called Montacute House and as it’s mid-30s Celcius here today I can’t be arsed getting any details for you. So here are the links….

  1. Beautiful!

I certainly love that 20th Anniversary!

What’s up with the black handles on the Combi? Is this the same one featured in an earlier TS blog about that, or is this a 2nd one? Just curious…

    Anyways, all are spectacular!

  2. This is 100% off topic, so please forgive (Love that colour blue on the ‘Vert btw), but any fellow Aussies watching ABC2 this evening? The Late Night Legends program that Lex Marinos hosts (think Bruno from Kingswood Country), had a rally from about the late 70s/early 80s. The rally took place in Canberra. Anyhoo, one of the cars was a SAAB 99, driven by Stig Blomqvist. They showed the service crew doing their thing on the 99, they had an interview with Blomqvist who had a yellow and blue umberella with Bilstein plastered over it. The commentator noted that ‘…the front wheel drive SAAB struggles up hills in comparison with the Ford Escort’. Other cars in the rally include an Escort, a Datsun 1600, a Lancia of some description etc. The SAAB looked fantastic (of course). According to the dude who drove the Escort, Blomqvist was their main competition. Anyway, completely off topic and I apologise, I just felt the need to report :)

  3. Well done Robin . In mission for Saab , you convert people to the convertible . Only someone passsionated like you could do it !
    Congrat them for me !

  4. Yeah couldnt agree more! That sharp looking twentieth anniversary edition does look stunning ….. and so it should it took me 2.5 hours to clean it and I didnt drive over 30 mph all the way to the location to endeavour to keep it clean for the shoot! I also had to spend an hour and half on cleaning the wife’s sportwagon too! My neigbours think I’m mad! I particularly like the one over the rear quarter panel looking up the drive perhaps I could get a job in Saab marketing! Would need the 2008 convertible as a company car though.
Gary and Annette Hearn the Morley ‘MOVE YOUR MIND’converts!

  5. Congratulations, Gary. The photos reflected the effort, if you ask me. Great looking cars and some fantastic composition there, as well. Thanks for sending them in, and for your comments as well.

You probably know, through Robin, but it’s not the first time your cars have been on the site. Annette’s Combi was featured when it was being delivered (thanks to those door handles) and yours has been shown too, most recently for the excellent 20th Anni decals.

    Thanks again.
