This looks like an Italian version of the ad for the TTiD. It features the sedan rather than the Combi in the ad above but it’s shorter than the one on Dagens and doesn’t have all the imagery.

Guys… Saab failed to use a car that runs on BioEthanol in this ad. The car used is a 2,8 Aero 184kW that only runs on petrol… Looked it up..
BUT, I would not be surprised if there soon will be a 2,8 Aero BioPower… The paper Dagens Media writes in the header that “..the model is Saabs BioPower that with a new engine can be run on Bio-ethanol”.. Does this mean that Saab will launch a 2,8 Aero BioPower or that the paper has got the text wrong???
didnt look like an aero to me the front bumper was different.

This is an amazing ad! Classy, bold and confident, exactly what Saab cars are.
Tompa, the car was definitely not an Aero, it had the Linear front skirt.

I want Saab’s European marketing team here for the US. The quality can’t even be compared.
It is an Aero… And strangely with the 184kW (250hp) spec and not the 188kW (255hp) spec that is used now. Go into http://www.bilregistret.se/fordon/sök ägar och fordonsuppgifter/sök uppgifter om annat fordon. Type in the registrationnumber and the code below. Then you can see that it IS an Aero 184kW, running on Petrol (Says: Bränsle Bensin) and that no alternative fuel can be used… (Alternativa bränslen: -) =None
Please freaze the ad when you can see the full front.. It has got the crome round the holes for the foglights.. It is an Aero and the liscenseplate says it all..
But hopefully we will se a 2,8 Aero BioPower.. It will without a doubt be avalible in the upcomming 9-5 and 9-4X (Atleast I would believe so.)
And yes.. The ad is superb!

That commercial Rocks. Why can’t Saab USA get their act together? Do they want to be thought of as a Subaru with a nice interior or a real honest equal in the sports luxury market? I mean honestly I work in the ad world and Saab is a joke in the USA strictly because their marketing is soo horrible. This AD is already made and ready to air in Europe it is a lot cheaper to change the language to english(keep the Turboladdad naturkraft) air it here than renting another jet from the NAVY. Hell cut it for non Bio Power, you know because we Americans like to pollute as much as possible you know.

Why can’t Saab-USA just consolidate with Saab-EU with marketing. It would save some money and these ads are brilliant. People say they don’t appeal to Americans, but I say BS. We all love it.
This is the message Saab should be giving in all their ads: the real-world power made available with turbocharging
I’ll take that over “Born from jets” any day. Good grief, has anyone seen a recent 9-3 brochure? It’s peppered with phrases like “prepared for take-off”, etc etc on every page. A reference to Saab’s heritage is one thing, but this BFJ thing is way overdone and SO PLAYED. I quite like the “Move your mind” slogan over BFJ. I think it’s time to give the current US theme a rest!
I second all of the “bring the ad to the US” comments and will throw in a “bring BioPower as well” to boot.
Both adverts are great and both have the same number plate on the car even though one is a saloon and the other a wagon. I prefer the longer (wagon) advert, tells me more of what they are trying to say. The number plate will probably just mean “It’s Swedish” to anyone outside Sweden. Great Advert Saab. Can’t wait to test drive the TTid.
Does anyone know which song this is? I too watch it over and over again.. The Swedish commercial is better than the Italian though..

Thats another thing, Saab has excellent taste in music for their commercials. They have actually turned me on to two Swedish singers, Oh Laura and Nina Kinert. I usually don’t listen to music of the type, but they are just good in their own way.
The ad is absolutely fantastic! It is more energetic and enthralling than a Born from Jets ad, and it is so much more stylish, classy and creative. I agree with Charles that Saab has great music for their ads. I’d happily listen to Oh Laura over ‘Ready Steady Go’ any day.

The song used by Saab in their presentation of the 2008 Saab 9-3 is so beautiful, i still keep watching it occasionaly just to hear the song. Unfortunately, I know nothing about who made it and if it’s available to purchase or download.
