Is this US XWD pricing??
I don’t think I’ve seen a press release yet that tells me what the pricing for XWD will be on the 2008 Saab 9-3.
It’ll be standard on the Saab Turbo X, but an option on the Aero version of the car and available around April of 2008. A few people have been trying to get pricing details from dealers, but with little success.
Ryan D was one such prospective XWD customer who was told by his dealer that they didn’t have pricing available as yet. But their dealership website might be telling a different story…..

That’s $2,645 - and it’s a bit more than expected. XWD was previously thought to be a $2,000 option.
Interestingly, there was no option of the eLSD on the build site, so whilst this is a good indicator, I’m not sure we’ve got the full story just yet.

If you look at the price it includes the engine upgrade to 280bhp. I am interested in seeing how much the XWD system with eLSD will cost with the 2.0T engine.
XWD will only be available with the Aero V6 for the time being, Zippy. It’ll trickle down to 2.0T eventually.
According to Steve Shannon at the U.S. 2008 9³ debut in Washington, D.C. in August XWD will be available on the 2.0T 9³ in the U.S. in 2009. I don’t know if that means model-year 2009 or calendar year.
It was in the same presentation he stated that AWD would add $2,000 to the price of the Aero. I’m looking in my notes and have written, “$28,385 for 2.0T sedan; $900 for Sport Combi; $2,000 for AWD”.
For the 2009 model year IIRC! If I end up with a Saab in my parking stall if must be so equipped.
And - as we know - US prices are always the chipest. I bet on that in Hungary it will be more than 3000 USD.
CarsDirect lists the XWD drive option for $2,354. You can find the price by building a 2008 9-3 Aero.
Not sure where they are getting their information from, but it also shows two hp outputs!

The last week I was at the dealer and I take one of the first TurboX catalogs, the simple version, without prices/options….
They are begining to receive all the info about prices and options. it seems the price for Spain its about 52000-55000 Euros. 55 with Auto gearbox.
