POO competition - St Michel entry

It’s time for another Pride of Ownership entry, with a photo of your pride and joy next to somewhere special. Ideally, that somewhere special should be somewhere near where you live.

That’s not quite the case here, with the photo being taken a little way away from home, but it’s still definitely worth a look.

This was taken by Bart B, who lives in Belgium, but holidayed in France recently…..

I took this picture during our holiday last summer (I know, the weather wasn’t that great…). The place isn’t really in my area, since I live about 500km away from there.

Nonetheless, this place is very special and I thought it deserved a place in the POO Competition…

This place is called “Le mont Saint-Michel”. Mont Saint Michael is a rocky tidal island in Normandy, roughly one kilometre from the north coast of France.

Mont Saint-Michael was previously connected to the mainland via a thin natural land bridge, which before modernization was covered at high tide and revealed at low tide. Thus, Mont Saint Michel gained a mystical quality, being an island half the time and being attached to land the rest: a tidal island.

The abbey on the Mont Saint-Michel was built during subsequent centuries.

The car is a Graphite Green Saab 9-3 SportSedan, a 2004 model, in Vector trim with the 2.2 TiD engine.

When does this contest end again? I’m interested but right now school is ridiculous and I have no time to give my car a detail and go drive and take pictures. Won’t be able to do anything like that until early to mid December :(
