Another take on the famous Saab Moose Test

From Flickr, I found this rather amusing and perhaps all-too-realistic rendition of the famous Saab Moose Test.

It appears that this is a Saab 9000 that actually experienced a crash with a moose and it was subsequently adorned with a faux dead moose for the exhibit. At least, for the sake of the nasal passages of the viewers, I hope that moose is fake!

  1. It’s not clear if it passed or failed. ?

Definitely passed. As the comment below points out, the A-pillars are intact, and both passengers still have room for their heads. EnG

  2. That car has strong A-pillars as they arent even remotely deformed. The roof on the other hand, yikes! I am sure the driver and passenger survived or they wouldnt have bothered having that funky hood ornament added to the 9000! Luckily we dont get too many moose – or is that mooses or moosi – here in Vancouver.

  3. Mooses are very tricky for car manufacturers. With deers and such the bounce off the hood, but the moose have a very heavy body on long, thin legs so if your car isn’t strong enough you get the moose in you lap.
