Also from Saabhistory.com comes the news and attending video for the 2008 9-3 launch in South Korea. Korea’s economy is booming, and they love their technology, for sure. Perhaps the Saab 9-3 will appeal to those that want a great, fun-to-drive automobile just as those of us in the rest of the world do.
For those of you that are unware, Korean automaker Hyundai specifically chose the Saab NG900/9-3 as the template for the Elantra styling. Perhaps that’s a good thing for Saab — Koreans prefer Saab styling, perhaps?



Such reviews make waiting for my AWD 2.0T that much harder.
i’ve definitely noticed the similarity with saab and the lines of elantra hatchback
apparently, the 9-3 SS is a common sight in Seoul.
Can’t say Hyundai succeeded in the styling of their Elantra, and I’ve actually never noticed any similarities to the NG900/9-3 other than it is a hatchback.
Some years ago when I lived in Busan, South Korea, there were no Saabs there. There weren’t that many import cars at all, but you could spot some 5 and 7-series BMW and E- and S-class MBs.
