Saab sales - Sweden - July 2007
ctm has emailed me the Swedish sales data for July 2007.
I was expecting flat sales for the month but overall it’s encouraging news.
Saab Sweden sold 969 units of the Saab 9-3 during July (759 BioPower), which was a rise of 8% over the same month last year. For the year so far, Saab have sold 7.499 units of the 9-3, which is a 10% rise for the year to date.
Given the availability of BioPower in the 9-3 range, sales of the 9-5 are falling predictably. For July, sales of the 9-5 totalled 787, which was a rather large 27% fall compared with July 2006 (700 of those were BioPower). For the year so far, sales of the 9-5 are down 21% to 6,712.

An illustration of how policy and investment can influence the market:
“Green cars” made up 19.5% of the new car sales market in Sweden in July. Out of that, Saab had a 36% share in July and they hold a 31% share for the year to date.
