Saab 9-7x in pictures

Imagery of the new 9-7x Aero has finally “landed” on the GM Media website.

I’ve also heard this morning that the ‘limited’ nature of this Aero model runs to 500 units, and with just a $3,000 premium over the 5.3 I think that should make it a very interesting proposition to shoppers looking at this sector of the SUV market. Let’s hope that Saab gets the word out effectively so that it reaches the buyers it needs to.

If it does sell well, then I’m sure that 500 unit total will be extended.

Here’s a selection of pics that you can click to enlarge.

Absolutely vile! - just another bland yank SUV indistinguishable from the other crud over there!

I’ve actually driven the truck on which the Aero is based on - the TrailBlazer “SS” - and it was an absolute blast. The thing had scary-fast acceleration with amazingly flat cornering, responsive steering, and fade-free brakes.

With a nicer interior, the 9-7X Aero will be even better, but it’ll also be priced along more sophisticated rivals. It’s hard to justify spending $45K on something so dated, but in terms of performance and driving enjoyment, nothing else in its price range/class (X5 3.0si, ML350, RX350, Cayenne, etc) comes close.

Looks like it will have ventilated seats as well.

Blasphemy. The Aero logo on crummy GM seats which don’t even feature Saab’s active head restrain system. In any case, AFAIC, this new 9-7x is just adding insult to injury.
