There has been "green" Volvo's for sale in Sweden for some time now, but they do not sell that well if compared to Saab. Saab had 38% of that market in June in Sweden; Volvo had 16%. Even all Volvo's combined do not reach either 9-3 BioPower or 9-5 BioPower sale. So they have some marketing to do.

yeah, i look forward to seeing the "wow," too, re:

"I’ve been hearing some occasional mutterings from Saab staffers who are currently getting briefed on the coming models in Sweden. Lifesize models of the coming vehicles have been seen by many and they’re all coming up with the same response - Wow!"

Yeah, E85 for naturally aspirated motors really shouldn't alter the marketplace that much. Less power, worse mileage do not make for commercial appeal. Particularly when you still be green and fast in a turbo Saab.

The difference between turbo-E85 and n/a-E85 ought to make for some fun compare-and-contrast advertising for Saab in Sweden, I would think!

As an aside, I thought Ovlov was phasing out the 2.5 liter turbo -- at least that is my impression in the U.S. market.

Typical Ovlov - using new technology to become even slower and less fun to drive!

I would assume though that the normally aspirated Volvos are going to take a hit on power when running on E85. They seem to not want to talk about power output like Saab who gives you up to 20% more hp. I wonder about the 2.5 turbo though, did they just upgrade the fuel lines, etc., or did they take full advantage of the higher octane like Saab did.
