There are some good photos from Magna Steyr here, which show the safety cell of the convertible.

This definitely could make a difference to those in the fortunate position of having to choose between the A4, 3series and 9-3. Most of this layer of customer will be basing their decision not on cost alone, but primarily image, brand and quality. Amongst them therefore, safety might be a useful factor if there is a borderline decision - on the basis of these tesats, if you have young kids, it's clear you wouldne't want them in the back of the other two!!! This could swing for a wealthy mum or sporty dad. SAAB, return to your roots advertising and make sure this isn't lost!!

Now if we could just get msnbc and Forbes to get their heads out of their arse. Hey, I'm learning Australian!
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18727834/
"Audi A4 family ... Perfect IIHS crash-test scores across the board."

My feedback to msnbc as follows...
"Audi A4 family ... Perfect IIHS crash-test scores across the board."
Huh? The A4 cabriolet just got G-M-P (Good-Marginal-Poor) scores on the IIHS tests (front-side-rear).
And, the Saab 9-3 didn't join the A4 at the top, Saab was first and all the others joined Saab later. Please get your heads out of your arse and report objectively and accurately.

This has a great warming feeling for me. Saab hasn't lost ANY of it's safety credibility IMHO...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn’t Pontiac G6 based on the same platform as Saab 9-3. Pontiac G6 has the poorest rating in this test which shows how good Saab are on safety when they can take what GM offers and turn it to something completely different compared to the other GM brands.

The 9-3 'vert came top in the Euro NCAP tests last year as well out of the then current crop of 'verts. Tiz one of the best reasons to own one, as well as it being a cracking car in its own right :)

I realy hope Saab uses this in their ads. It is so cool to see an ad where they comment on that the safety-design of the 9-3 is 5 years old and still it is the safest car...

The should also make a big whop at that you dont need to be in a SUV to survive a crash almost unharmed..
