Even in Trollhattan, Swade’s nemesis finds him…

Swade’s video clip below is great proof that Swedes (and probably Europeans in general) prefer hatchbacks and wagons for their practicality. They easily outnumber sedans and coupes on the streets of Trollhattan.

However, Swade’s old nemesis crept in.

I picked up on the same thing that Ted Y saw: a HUGE 1955 or 1956 Cadillac buzzed by right as Swade is making his point!

Swade: Face facts: Cadillac owns you!

Try counting all of those BLS models that you see (ha ha)!

  1. Only thing that proves is there are wankers in Sweden too.

That reminds me though, my Dad imported one from the US and had it converted RHD in the early sixties. A beautiful white with red leather convertible…..

I only wish he’d kept it on mothballs and handed to me for my 21st!!!!

    whhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa…….

  2. Okay, look at that 1950s dinosaur Cadillac and imagine dozens of them all on the same street at once. Such is the scene in Havana, Cuba in 2007!!!

  3. Sort of on-but-kinda-off-topic: I “accidentally” clicked on one of the cadillac.com video ads and after the “feel-good” infomercial, redirected to the Cadillac website. I noticed “The All New 2008 CTS: Coming This Fall” gimmick.

Doesn’t it bother anyone that we have these two stable-mates competing for floor space? Stateside, many Saab dealers are integrated into the Caddy dealers, and maybe that is a good thing for a “niche” product like Saab, but just when Saab has a product to attract new buyers, the salesman can now say, “Yes, the 9-3 is a stunning vehicle, but for a few dollars more per month you can own a Cadillac CTS!” The pitch might include that the CTS basically shares the under pinnings of the 9-3, etc.

I really don’t see people shopping for a CTS with a salesman saying, “But look at this 9-3, for a little less money you can have a more obscure car!”

And why does Caddy have “Celebrities” pushing their pills? Bugger off Andy Garcia, shove off Tiki Barbar –

We’ve got Steven “Swade” Wade! Sham on!

    Is this a tangent?

  4. Swade, you found the reason Cadillac will never success in Sweden or Europe. We love those old cars. There are lot’s of them, beuatifully restored and driven in the summer trying to get a feel for the American dream. That’s what Cadillac (Chevvy or Buick…) are in the minds of Swedes for generation. No way GM management can change that with some advertising…

  5. Car love ain’t monogamous. You can drool over the understated elegance of the 9-3 and follow it up with marvel over the Arts and Science crispness of the CTS.
